Roller Blinds

Materials are available in widely differing levels of sun block. From "Black Out" which stops all light, to sheer transparent fabrics. Materials should be held up to the light while choosing.

When measuring for roller blinds in a recess it must be remembered that there is a necessary deduction to allow for brackets and operation components, therefore the fabric width will be 40mm ( 1.5") smaller than the recess size.

Blinds are intended to cover the glass not necessarily the frame, in certain applications, bay windows etc, it may be impossible to fit roller blinds without leaving small gaps between individual blinds. At certain angles, and depending on the exact shape of the bay, it may be possible to see through these gaps.

At Manhattan we sew in a pocket to accept the weight bar, and as standard we braid along the sewn seam and around the scallop both front and back. Braid is attached using hot melt glue which is fine in normal circumstances, however if " little fingers" start pulling the braid, it will peel off without ripping the material.

Our blinds are made so that the weight bar will reach the window sill, however prolonged folding of the scallop is likely to leave creases.

The chain control will be fitted on the right side of the roller unless otherwise specified.

It is normal to fit brackets directly to the window frame using hardware approved by the Window and Conservatory Manufacturers Association
